Happy fall! As we approach the end of the semester we have some upcoming closures and reduced hours. Read on for more info! We’ve been so excited to see the amazing projects and skills students have been developing here in the Labriola InnoHub. This page will be continuously updated throughout the semester continues.
Break Closure and Reduced hours for Finals
The Shops and Spaces in the Labriola InnoHub will be closed for Break this Wednesday November 27th-Sunday December 1st. As we return and reopen on Monday December 2nd we will have regular hours until review day, December 5th, where we will start a reduced hours schedule to accommodate our student workers through review day and finals.

Makerspace Soft Close
We are implementing a “soft close” to allow time for evening Makerspace maintenance. We will give you a heads up around 8pm/8:15PM and will close the doors and not start new prints after 8:30PM on weekdays. Please leave the space by 8:45PM so we can complete necessary closing procedures.
Build and Brew is Now Open!!!!
Build and Brew, the InnoHub’s spot for coffee and tea is now open in the atrium. Regular weekday hours are 9AM-1PM. The sister shop to Build and Brew in the Arthur Lakes Library, stop by for some quick caffeine and a smile to take with you through the day.
Student Project Storage Now Available!
Students using Innohub shops and maker spaces to create their projects can apply to use on-site storage to store project materials. Applications are processed first come, first served and students must provide their own locks. Apply today!
Two New Shops have Opened!
As of Fall 2024 the Metal Shop and Paint & Composites Shop are now open! The Metal Shop boasts four HAAS CNC machines, including a CNC lathe with movable y-axis. One such machine is shown below and to the left. Also in the Metal Shop are welding bays, and team stations for manual mill and lathe, along with many other tools and machines. The Paint & Composites shop includes resin printing (shown below and to the right), carbon fiber layup equipment, and a spray paint booth along with several other machines.
Our Electronics Shop is now fully set up! In addition to the soldering stations available last semester we now also have a PCB mill, bench test equipment, hot air stations, free discrete components, and a reflow oven coming soon.
We also have free fasteners in Tool Crib!
More Machines and New Trainings!
The Wood Shop has been gradually bringing more machines online this summer including the Shopbot (upper left), a programable CNC milling, carving, and cutting machine, and several Epilog Laser Engravers (upper right), for etching, cutting, and engraving. Training for these machines can be found on our Canvas page.
The Makerspace has been building out trainings and procedures for advanced manufacturing and sewing. New trainings include MarkForged professional 3D printing (below and left) and basic sewing skills as well as t-shirt printing and serging professional seam finishing (below and right).
Workshops Coming Soon!!!
Workshops are launching this fall at the Labriola Innovation Hub! These workshops will be posted on TRAIL, and they are an exciting opportunity to learn new design, creative, or technical skills. Sign ups for workshops are coming soon look for announcements on the Canvas and Daily Blast.
